Wastime
Life calendar & time diary – see your time, live on purpose.
Wastime is a private, offline-first life calendar and time diary. You log where your hours go, mark each entry as meaningful or wasted, and see what ordinary weeks add up to over a year, while the calendar lays your whole life out in weeks. Your entries stay on the phone unless you publish a calendar, analytics runs only if you agree to it, and the app needs no account and is built for short visits.
Why it’s here
I took Wastime from an idea to a released product on my own, with a mobile app, a .NET API on Azure and an Angular website sharing one API contract. The app is on Google Play and the App Store, and the same path is the one I would take with your product.
Problem
Most days feel full, and by evening it is hard to say where the hours went. A plain count of hours rarely shows what a year was spent on, and an app that asks for a lot of attention takes up time of its own.
Solution
Day to day, Wastime is a Time Diary. Each entry belongs to a topic, you decide yourself whether it goes on the wasted or the meaningful side, and statistics project the current pace over a year or ten. Step back and the life calendar draws your whole life as a grid of weeks, with milestones on the events that shaped it. Around them sit five time calculators and a converter that turns a price into the hours of work behind it. All of it runs from an encrypted database on the phone, and publishing a calendar is the only step that needs an account and a network.
- A picture of where your time goes, with no scores or streaks, and you decide what counts as wasted.
- A purchase shown as the hours of work it costs.
- Offline by default, with a calendar reaching the web only when you publish it.
